We already knew that the handset would go on sale on T-Mobile only after May 25, given that the magenta carrier is currently running an exclusive preview program for the device which runs through that date. So, a release date of June 2 falls in line with that information, although T-Mobile is yet to announce it officially.
Meanwhile, it isn't yet clear when the smartphone will be available on other US carriers, although the Verizon and Sprint variants are said to have cleared the FCC hurdle.
The LG G4 will carry a 5.5-inch LCD screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. That works out to a pixel desity of 538ppi. The Snapdragon 808 SoC is under the hood with a hexa-core 1.8GHz CPU, and the Adreno 418 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside and there is 32GB of expandable memory. The 16MP rear camera has an aperture of f/1.8 allowing for quality photos to be snapped under low-light conditions. It also comes with OIS. The 8MP front-facing camera is perfect for selfies and video chat. A 3000mAh removable battery powers the handset, and Android 5.1 is pre-installed.
T-Mobile has been on a nationwide tour promoting the LG G4, which explains the name of the Twitter account. While no U.S. carrier has announced a price or launch date for the handset, both Sprint and U.S. Cellular said that they would have the phone in stores next month. As we told you earlier today, U.S. buyers of the phone will receive a second spare battery, an extra wall charger, and a 32GB microSD card.
